Our Location

The PEYP office trailer is located close to the Nursing Station ~ look for the beige trailer with our logo on it.

Our Hours of Operation

We are open Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm (closed 12-1pm for lunch) excluding statutory holidays and whenever the Pikangikum Health Authority is closed.

The PEYP is here to support families and children from 0-6 years-old with the following:

CHILDHOOD SCREENING:

Our staff are trained to provide the Ages and Stages Questionnaires®.  We use the Nurturing the Seed Program to share ideas on how to support children’s specific developmental needs.

HOME VISITS:

We visit caregivers at home to check in and offer suggestions for supporting optimal development.

PLAY GROUP:

We host small groups of children and their caregivers designed to interest children in play while supporting their specific developmental needs.

RESPITE:

We can help navigate accessing respite services through Wesway for caregivers of children with high needs.

COMPLEX CASE NAVIGATION:

Our Case Managers provide personalized support to help families navigate health care systems and access appropriate resources to ensure care continuity.

BONDING WITH BABY:

We have trained staff who promote nurturing touch and communication so that parents, caregivers and children are loved, valued and respected.

DOLLY PARTON’S IMAGINATION LIBRARY:

We can help families enroll in this free book program. It’s devoted to inspiring a love of reading in young children.

FEEDING SUPPORT:

A nurse can explain breastfeeding before birth and offer suggestions if you are having difficulty nursing your baby.

Circle of Security Parenting (COSP):

This parenting training enhances parenting skills and shows effective ways to understand and respond to children’s moods and behaviour.

BLIND & LOW-VISION INTERVENTION:

Specially trained Early Childhood Vision Consultants work with caregivers to create learning opportunities that support the child’s overall development.
