The setting in Pikangikum is suited for those with experience in a fast paced environment. Depending on the area of specialty, Pikangikum is unique in that the nurses and health professionals need to be adaptive, independent and experienced in managing complex and challenging conditions.

Our Young Community

The high birth rate in Pikangikum means that there are many births, babies, and children with complex needs. There are many areas of specialty within the community and the Pikangikum Health Authority will help applicants find their “fit” within the community. Any experience, certification or specializations that align with the community’s needs will be considered when applying.

Pikangikum offers orientation and mentorship for nurses joining the community. A team of experienced nurses provide training and support to ensure a collaborative environment for new nurses.
